Praise and Prayer Requests – August 2014

1. Praise God for the amazing ministry that the team from Simpson University had at the Mahapawn Living Water Church at the end of May. They helped us with another children’s outreach in the community where we had passed out the Operation Christmas Child boxes back in January. We had over sixty children attend. Several of the teenagers from that community began to attend our church youth activities as a result. The Simpson Team had a special church youth program and led another English worship service for our international congregation and Thai people who are studying English with us. Then we went back to the elementary school we had visited in November for a fun filled English outreach. The 150 fourth through sixth grade children treated the team like movie stars, taking lots of selfies and getting the Christian literature we distributed autographed by the team members. The school children were thrilled as were the teachers and administration of this simple country school. The team performed the “Prodigal Daughter” as a way to share the gospel. Two of our Thai church members that came along were able to share with the assistant director of the school more about the Gospel as the program proceeded. Pray as the church continues to follow-up these relationships.
2. Pastor Sukprasan had a small metal rod bolted into his lower leg after a severe break as a result of a motorcycle accident when he was eleven years old. He was supposed to have had it out two or three years after the leg healed. Now 16 years later it is causing some discomfort. He has decided to get the metal rod removed. The surgery is scheduled for September 4. Pray that the surgery and the month of physical therapy will be successful. Pray for the church while he is gone for those five or six weeks that God will supply the “man-power” needed for the ministry.
3. Please pray for our children as they begin a new school year. Laura has already begun her semester at Dalat International School in Penang, Malaysia where she continues to teach middle and high school music. Nathan will return to Geneva College (near Pittsburgh PA) at the end of the month to resume his studies in mechanical engineering. Pray that both of them will walk close to Jesus and shine for Him.
