Prayer Requests – May 2022

Please pray as we continue to plan and strategize with the pastors of the Mahapawn Baan Paeo Church, where we are currently serving, and the Mahapawn Living Water Church, our mother church, for the year we are in the USA on home assignment (July 2022-June 2023) and for the new church plant in Baan Bo.  Pray for God’s wisdom and leading. Sort-rip-shred-scan-toss…repeat.  Please pray as we go through our files, our books, our clothes, and our other “stuff”.  Our goal is to only store what we will actually be using when we return to Thailand.  God has given us a […]

Dedicated for God’s Glory

Praise God for a beautiful God honoring building dedication service at the Mahapawn Living Water Church, our mother church, on March 27.  After all the renovations since the building was purchased in May 2021, the building is quite functional and attractive.  Besides the daughter church where we serve, representatives from area churches, the greater Bangkok area C&MA churches, and C&MA USA international workers joined the celebration.  Ed and I have had the privilege of being a part of this church since its inception back in 2007. Pastor Sukprasan asked us to put together a brief video history of the church […]

Prayer Requests – April 2022

Pray that the Lord will use the Mahapawn Living Water Church, our mother church, to continue expanding His kingdom.  May many Thai people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus.  Please pray that the Covid situation will improve.  Many in our churches have been infected.  Sunday attendance everywhere is low.  Pray that God will use this situation to turn hearts to Him. We will be heading back to the USA at the end of June to begin our year of home assignment.  Praise the Lord that we now have a home to live in and a car to use for […]

Welcome Tub and Gao-Jai

We enjoyed a delightful weekend with the Thailand C&MA field’s newest international workers Tub and Gao-Jai Yang.  You may have seen the video of their testimony last year (https://vimeo.com/542444192 ).  They arrived in Thailand in August 2021.  But because they chose to do their Thai language study in the far northeast of Thailand, we only got to meet them in person in early January at our field’s mid-year retreat. We invited them to come and visit us for a weekend.  At the end of February, they left their three children in the care of another IW family and visited us […]

Prayer Requests – March 2022

Praise God, the Lord has brought another family burdened for Thai church planting among the least reached. Please pray that Tub and Gao-Jai Yang and their three children will thrive in Thailand and that God will bless their ministry to the Thai people.  Pray that God will raise up more people to serve in Thailand. The Mahapawn Living Water Church, our mother church, is planning on having their church building dedication on Sunday, March 27.  Please pray for all the preparations.  Pray that the Covid situation will not hinder the gathering in any way.  Pray that the church continues to […]

Set Apart

“Instruction of Stay: It is not allowed to come outside of the room till check out…Report your temperature everyday 2 times…Covid test day 2 and day 5…Relaxing at roof top available 1 time per day…starting from day 4…45 minutes per day…Choose your meals by 3 pm the day before…”  Thus began our week of quarantine in an approved hotel in Bangkok.    Sadly, Ed’s father passed away unexpectedly on January 9.  He is a believer, and we know he is rejoicing with his Savior, Jesus, in heaven.  We quickly arranged to go to the USA for two weeks, juggling all […]

Praise and Prayer Requests – February 2022

We appreciate continued prayers as we grieve the loss of Ed’s father.  Please pray especially for Ed’s mom who was married to his dad for 62 years.  Many adjustments and decisions lie ahead for her. Our goal in church planting is to see the church function on its own with Thai leadership.  Praise God for Pastor Sittichai and God’s call on his life to serve as pastor of the Mahapawn Baan Paeo Church.  Praise God for the growing number of lay leaders to serve alongside him.  One missing link was a Thai treasurer.  Praise God, this request is now answered.  […]

Amazing Christmas

Praise God for the amazing opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with over 1,000 people.  The director of the Baan Paeo District had invited the Mahapawn Baan Paeo Church, where we serve, to have a booth at their annual fair that promotes local products on the evenings of Dec 24, 25, and 26.  They gave us 30 minutes each night on stage to sing and to explain the meaning of Christmas.  Our pastors gave clear presentations of the Gospel each night.   Besides having free fun carnival games at our booth and giving out lots of prizes, we were […]

Prayer Requests-January 2022

Please pray that everyone at the Baan Paeo district annual fair who received a Christmas packet and/or heard the presentations of the Gospel the evenings of Dec 24, 25, and 26 will be drawn to Jesus.  Pray that God will bring many to Himself. Please pray that our church members will stay close to Jesus.  We have been open for in-person worship since the middle of November, but some members are still hesitant to return.  Pray for the leadership of the Mahapawn Baan Paeo Church as they make plans for the growth of the church in this new year and […]

Thanks for praying

Teacher Kim finally received permission to move from her school in the south to a school in Bangkok.   The new school is located very near the condo she owns in Bangkok too! And true to her word, she began attending the Mahapawn Baan Paeo Church eager to serve.  She likes to teach children, yay!  Teacher Kim led her mother to the Lord just in the last year, so I have started to disciple her.   The contractor that did the major renovations at the mother church agreed to improve the bathroom and add a second one at the Mahapawn Baan Paeo […]
