“Song Dee” by Belle

Praise God, Belle (pronounced “Bale” by the Thai), at 19 years old, opened her own hair salon.  Only the power of God could a life change like this. Rescued twice from the pit I met Belle when she happened to be at her family’s roadside food stall, a 14-year-old seeker ready to sell her soul to Satan.  She had already dropped out of school and was into drugs, alcohol, boys…and feeling hopeless.  When I told her there was a better way…Jesus…she responded and found new hope in Him.  Intense discipleship followed.  Slowly, with God’s help, she shook off her old […]

Praise and Prayer Requests-Dec. 2020

Please pray for our upcoming Christmas outreaches.  The outreach at church will be on Sunday, Dec. 20 and will emphasize inviting unsaved family and friends.  On Thursday, Dec. 24, we will join our mother church for an outreach at a small elementary school in Baan Bo, the target area of the next daughter church.  Then on Friday. Dec. 25, we will be going into a local elementary school for an outreach to 120 students. In the afternoon of Dec. 25, we will give out presents to any child that is in the local hospital and offer to pray with the […]

God’s Hand of Mercy – Pastor Sittichai

“If it hadn’t been for God, I probably would be in prison right now,” Pastor Sittichai shared with the congregation.  He had just received his Bachelors’ degree from the Bangkok Bible Seminary the day before.  The Mahapawn Baan Paeo Church was celebrating this milestone in his life and had asked him to share how God called him into the ministry. “I was born into a Christian family but did not live much like a Christian.  In high school I got involved with a local gang, even though I was in a Christian dorm.” Sittichai hails from the mountains of northern […]

Praise and Prayer Requests – November 2020

Please pray for the church as we plan and prepare for our Christmas outreaches.  The outreach at church will be on Sunday, Dec. 20 and will emphasize inviting  unsaved family and friends.  We will do Christmas outreaches at two local  public elementary schools.  The first school is here in Baan Paeo. The second school is in the area where we hope to plant the next daughter church.  The school director of that school is a member of the church here in Baan Paeo.  He is excited that a team from the church will be able to share the true meaning […]

Home Fellowship Groups

Praise God for those in the church who are opening their homes for fellowship groups. Pray that God expands this ministry for member care and outreach to neighbors.  Meet some of the groups: Twenty-five kilometers west of the church:  This is our oldest fellowship group, started six months after we moved to Baan Paeo in 2015.  Anek and his wife Sombat had moved back to the family coconut farm after living and working in Bangkok for many years.  Their C&MA pastor in Bangkok asked us to look after this family when he heard we were starting a church in Baan […]

Praise and Prayer Requests – October 2020

We praise the Lord that He is raising up more of our church members to serve in the ministries of the church.   In the coming month of October, lay church members will be leading our Wednesday evening Bible study and prayer meeting held at church.  Out of the five people who are rotating in the leading of worship, Bible discussion or prayer, three of them are studying in the Center for Leadership Development program.  Other members are serving the Lord in visitation, bookkeeping of the church finances, church kitchen, and repairs and maintenance of the church building.  This is important […]

Go and Make Disciples…

Go and Make Disciples… YouTube Video Thumbnail

We thank God for the opportunity to disciple new believers who are eager to grow in their faith.  Ed and Pastor Sittichai meet with Bank, a new believer in his early 30’s, each Wednesday morning at his home in the family coconut orchard.  During one session, it was a delight to hear him pray out loud to God his Father for the first time.   Ed gets together regularly with Nong Tum, who is in fifth grade.  He came to know Christ through our children’s ministry at the church and sincerely wants to follow Jesus.  Sue studies God’s word with Mawn, […]

Praise and Prayer Requests – September 2020

We thank God that four ladies have found spiritual healing and freedom in Christ through the ministry of Soul Care during the past year.  They now encourage one another to continue walking in the light of God.  Please pray that this ministry will continue to grow to other believers who want to live wholeheartedly for Jesus and be healed in Him. Nee, a lady in her 40’s, does Thai massage for a living.  She has two special needs children, both with epilepsy, behavioral issues, and learning disabilities.  Bale has been sharing with her about Jesus.  Nee came to church once […]

“I’ve never been to church before”

“I’ve never been to church before,” were the first words that tumbled out of the young man as he stepped up to the front door of the church, removing his motorcycle helmet. His face mask made it a little hard to hear his soft-spoken voice.   The worship service had already started on the second floor.  I was downstairs at the door to greet people, follow government regulations (temperature checks, hand gel, sign in info), and assist those watching the service on the ground floor monitor. I welcomed the young man, invited him in, and asked if he was a Christian […]
