March 2016

Dear Friends and Family,

It has been a while since we’ve updated you, and for that we are sorry. Thank you for your continual prayer support for us and our family as we minister here in Berlin.

As many of you may know we are heading into the home stretch before coming back to the states for a year of home assignment. This term has had its ups and its downs, but has been undeniably a term where we have sensed God’s hand moving and leading us in the ministry here.

Here are just a few highlights of what we have experienced in the last months:

EKW, our church, put on another kids’ Christmas Musical this year. This year we partnered with two separate Christian pre-schools as part of the presentation. This resulted in the largest attended church service in our church history! Many parents of the pre-school children, who don’t yet have a relationship with God, were in attendance and able to clearly hear the message of hope that we have through Jesus. Pray for the workers at these pre-schools and for our children’s church staff as they continue to have interaction with many of these children and their families.

In the last months God has given us some great times with neighbors and friends. We have even seen some of them come to church services and our monthly Lego brunch. We were again able to share the hope that we have through Christ with many of them. With others we were able to have good conversations that hopefully leave them considering what we believe. It will be very hard to be apart from these friends for a year, we trust that God will continue to penetrate their thoughts and draw them to himself. A few of them have already booked their tickets to visit us while we are there!

God has done such great things through the ministry of our Family and Friends Camp that Sarah and I helped to start in 2012. We are very excited that this year the camp will be running without any of our mission support. The best part is that as of January the camp was already filled to capacity! A mix of believers and seekers will be in attendance. Please pray that those in attendance will have open hearts and minds and be willing to take the next step in their faith journey. We trust that God will continue using this ministry to reach those who are lost in darkness.

Please continue to pray for our kids as they finish up their 5th and 2nd Grade years here in Germany. Pray for them as they prepare to head back to a country that isn’t home, but is considered their homeland. The upcoming transition has been on their minds a lot lately. Pleases pray for God’s peace that passes all understanding for our two precious children. Please also pray for God to intervene and help Jenna improve in her English reading abilities.

So much more is happening, but we’ll save it for another day. We hope to write again very soon!

We are always so thankful for your support, both financially through the C&MA Great Commission Fund and through your prayers. Thank you for teaming up with us to bring light into the darkness here in Berlin and Northeast Germany!

May you and your family have a very blessed Easter celebration as you concentrate on Jesus’ great sacrifice for us.

In His Grip,

Don, Sarah, Dane and Jenna Jones

      Hi Marilyn,
Thank you so much for praying for us! Yes, we will be living in State College and the kids will be coming to NCS! We plan to arrive in town around August 1st. Let’s get together soon after that. We’re excited to see you again!

Will be praying for you all as you start this transition. I can’t believe the kids are growing up so quickly. It will selfishly be great to see you all but I am sure a difficult transition. Good friends will be transitioning back to the US from Chile for at least a year as they are contemplating leaving the mission field and it is tough on them as they discern God’s will. Their little ones are 5 and 2 so they aren’t sure how they will transition as well.

So excited about seeing you! Blessings and prayers!
