Greetings from Phnom Penh!
I made it into Phnom Penh around 10:30 p.m. last night (Cambodia time). Thank you so much for your prayers! My travels were smooth (other than some turbulence on the last flight) and my luggage arrived with me – always a good thing. 😊
I just had a chance to look at the progress being made on the dining hall and residence building of the UMTC (Urban Ministry Training Center). The dining hall should be finished soon and looks great! The residence building is still in its beginning stages of construction. Last I heard we have funds for the foundation and first floor pillars, so that’s what they are working on now. Continue to pray that the needed finances will come in, so the building can be completed by next year.
My teammates, Jeff & Heather Williams, told me last night that we don’t have any students registered for the school yet, but some that are interested. Things tend to be last minute here. We’d appreciate your prayers – pray that God would provide a few students for us to get the school off the ground in September. We are looking for just six students for this first year, but would be happy for more.
A few other prayer requests for this week and next:
- A good housing situation for me.
- Travel to Poipet on Friday (July 7th) – been a while since I’ve driven in Cambodia and the rules are different . . . or non-existent. 😊
- The Cambodian Field Forum is being held this year with the Thai Mission Field Forum in Thailand July 10 – 14. Pray for our travel, a relaxing and fun time of fellowship with the Thailand International Workers and God’s leading and direction for our strategy and business sessions.
Thank you so much for standing in prayer with me – it makes all the difference!
