Happy New Year!

As I write this, the New Year has started for me in Cambodia, but many of you in the U.S.A. still have a few hours to wait. (There is a twelve hour time difference from Eastern Standard Time.) But let me wish you a Blessed New Year already!
The New Year brings a new trimester at the Antioch Bible Institute of Phnom Penh. The students will be arriving today and classes start tomorrow. Having been through one trimester already, I know how much work is ahead for the next three months – both for us teachers and for the students. Please continue to pray for strength, endurance and joy in this important work of training workers. And especially be praying for the guidance of God’s Spirit in the school.
I would also ask for your prayers for Ton & Theary, the students I mentioned in the last update. We haven’t been able to contact them (although we’ve communicated with their pastor) and aren’t certain that they will return for this second trimester. This makes us all sad, especially since the first trimester they were so certain that God had called them to study at the school. Pray that God would give Ton & Theary clear direction as to what He would have them do and that they would have the courage to follow wherever God leads them.
Thank you again for your praying and giving in 2017. I am so grateful for partners who have a heart for the people of the world and for building God’s Kingdom in Cambodia. Let’s look forward in anticipation to what God will do in 2018!
