Some of you were wondering if I fell off the face of the earth . . . well, I didn’t, but I did take a nice long trip back to Pennsylvania in April to visit my Dad and see what I could do to help out. It was good to be there and see my Dad make some progress. He still has a way to go, so we’d appreciate your continued prayers for his mobility and health.
Back in Cambodia, the 3rd and final trimester of the year is underway at the Antioch Bible Institute. My days once again are filled with lesson prep, teaching, ministry group and washing dishes (it’s the only thing they let me do these days when my turn in the kitchen rolls around. I’m thinking they don’t like my cooking!)
In the previous post, I mentioned the start up of a children’s outreach at the railroad community. Unfortunately, those plans fell through when we discovered another church working with the children at the same time and place that we were planning to and as we don’t want to step on any toes, we changed our plans. We’d still like to work with children, and possibly do AWANA, but aren’t sure yet where and what it will look like. Please pray with us for God’s leading.
We’d also appreciate your prayers for this weekend’s “Intergenerational Conference” May 10th-12th. In Cambodia, it is often difficult for the different generations to work together in ministry, hence the conference where both the older generation and younger generation of church leaders will be represented. We anticipate some great messages and good participation. Pray that God will speak to us thru the conference and help both generations see how they can work together for the good of the Kingdom of God.
And lastly, please pray for the Ladies Singles Retreat, May 14th-18th in Penang, Malaysia. There are six of us C&MA related single ladies in Cambodia at the moment and we are headed out of the country for the first time for our annual retreat. We are so grateful for our Regional Directors, Tim and Vi Steinert, who are graciously allowing us to stay at their house in Penang. Pray for a fun, encouraging time and that we return with a renewed spirit and strength for the work God has given us.
Thank you for your prayers!
