Summer Break

A big thank you to all who were praying for the Cambodian national elections.  Things were quiet – even the streets of Phnom Penh were without the usual traffic jams!  Continue to ask God to bless Cambodia with peace and a knowledge of His Son.

The Antioch Institute school year finished up well and we celebrated the accomplishments of the students with a boat ride up and down the river.  On the boat, the students received their certificate of completion for the first level of TEE (Theological Education by Extension) and for completing Evangelism Explosion training.  We, teachers, are very proud of them!

Thank you for your prayers regarding another house to rent for the new school year which begins September 1st.  A few days after school finished, we signed a contract to rent a new house in the same neighborhood.  It is literally a NEW house as no one has lived there yet.  The landlord’s family seems really nice and we look forward to moving on August 15th.  Pray that we can form a good relationship with the landlord.  The wife knows a bit about Jesus and seems open to learning more.  Pray that we can be good witnesses of Jesus to this family who lives next door.

In addition, we’ve been interviewing the students who have applied for the new year. Please be praying for these new students as some of them have challenges to overcome before coming to study in September.

Blessings on you all as you enjoy your ‘summer break!’

    Hi Kandi!
I hope you are doing well. I start back to school on Monday. The kids will start next Monday. My niece moved in with me. She is going to school to be a veterinary assistant. I have a teenager. And I’m teaching her to drive. She’s excited and I’m excited for her. Thanks for the bold print. It was great to be able to read everything. I will continue to pray. How’s your dad?

Sounds like life will soon be busy for you with school and a teenager in the house. But a good busy, I hope!
My Dad is about the same. We’d like him to be able to come home, but that hasn’t happened yet. Thank you for your continued prayers for my Dad and for Antioch!
