God is good . . . all the time

This is a long, long over due update.  Let me thank everyone who has continued to pray faithfully for the Antioch Bible Institute – even without regular updates.

I have been asking your prayer for a long time for relationships among the students.  We, teachers, have tried everything we could think of to help the girls reconcile – without success.  Finally, we decided there was nothing else for us to do and God had to do it.  So we turned our efforts to fasting and praying — which in truth, should have been our first step.  So we prayed and fasted a meal or two a day.  We did not announce to the students what we were doing, but neither did we hide it from them.  A week later, while the teachers’ were having their weekly meeting, God moved in the hearts of the students and they asked forgiveness of each other and were reconciled.  It was ALL GOD!  Praise Him for His power to move in hearts!

The 2nd trimester of the school year then finished up on April 4th, with all the students doing well on their finals and in their relationships with one another.

After a good end to a very busy trimester, I was looking forward to a nice uneventful break.  However, that was not to be.  Today I received word that my father passed away. His health had been deteriorating for some time and today Jesus called him home.  I will be heading home in a few hours to be with my family.  He was a believer, so even in our sorrow, we have hope. Praise God for the hope of the resurrected Christ!

Kandi, I am thankful that I at least got to speak to you and identify myself on the day of your father’s home going celebration. Your pastor had a very fine and comforting message. I wish I might have met your father. May the Lord bless you and the work of the school as you return to Cambodia.
