Pray, Pray, Pray!

Dear friends,

I am so grateful for your intercessory prayers for the Antioch Bible Institute.  It has been a difficult trimester with a lot of ‘yucky’ sin issues and strongholds being exposed and confronted.  Every time it seems we have made progress, have found victory – the enemy rises to attack again.  I’m sorry that I can’t speak more specifically about the spiritual battles that some of our students are facing, but God knows – even better than we teachers.  We need your prayers.

On Friday, we saw a big issue put to rest through humble confession.  Forgiveness was asked for and freely given.  We rejoiced in what God is doing through difficult situations.  And then last night, the enemy showed himself again.  He is like a spider crushed under a shoe, but refusing to die.  Please pray with us.  It breaks our hearts to see the students’ futures and lives destroyed by his evil work.  Pray for the students involved.  That they will see the hand of our enemy in this and reject it.  Pray that they chose Jesus and His way of freedom.  Pray God shows them (and us teachers) how best to cast out these demons of rebellion, pride, self harm and control.  I don’t know what else to say, except Pray!

Other prayer requests . . .

This last trimester of the school year will finish July 23rd, with our first graduation on July 25th.  Pray for the power of God to be seen and to be at work in these last weeks.

Our new school year will begin September 1st and although we have a few students interested, none have yet applied.  Pray that God will send us six to ten students for the new school year.

July 3 – 7 is the mission’s yearly field forum.  A gathering of all the CMA International Workers from the USA and other countries who are working together in Cambodia.  Pray for our time together – for God’s specific Words to us during our worship time, God’s leading during strategy sessions, God’s encouragment and joy during our fun “hanging out” times and for God’s Spirit of unity to rest on us all.

    Dear Kandi,
Although it may not appear so, God is doing a mighty work there. Otherwise Satan would not be so anxious to destroy it. Remember the end of the Book.

Ohh, Kandi, sorry to hear this semester has been a bit of a slog…three steps forward, two steps back… 🙁 God is still working, even when it looks like our enemy is winning people’s hearts. God doesn’t give up that easily! He’s doing things we can’t see. I’m praying for things to end well! And for a good start to the new school year in September. 🙂

Just reading this now, I can feel the weariness of battling Satan. Corrie ten Boom once quoted then end of Eph. 6:13, “you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand,” with the emphasis on the standing. Sometimes it feels like we can’t do much more than that.
