Time feels like it’s flying by quickly as I near the end of this term in Cambodia. I’ll be headed back to the United States on July 1st. It always seems like there is so much to do before you leave because you want to finish your work well, spend time with everyone you know, pack up your house, not to mention start thinking about what to share in the churches at home this coming year. Just a little bit of stress. 🙂
Thank you for your prayers for the students at the Antioch Bible Institute. The students who were struggling last month are doing much better, but as you think of them please continue to pray for them. Pray especially for the 2nd year students who are trying to discern what God wants them to do when they graduate later in July.
On a happy note, a young man named Rit who is a relatively new believer, but isn’t a student at Antioch, is asking to be baptized. Because of Covid-19, he doesn’t have any connections with a church, but his Christian community has been the Antioch school. He was a construction worker on the school building for a time and comes almost daily to play volleyball and hang out with the students. Plus, two of our students have been helping teach him about Jesus using Bible stories. This Wednesday, the school will participate in his baptism. Pray for Rit. Often people who are going to be baptized face spiritual attack and Rit is no exception. Pray for him to remain strong in Jesus and that the baptism is a special time for him and the students.
Please continue to persevere in prayer for another teacher couple. We are talking to one couple now, but it is not a sure thing. The school has been making alternate plans, in case we don’t find someone, but having new teacher couple would be best for the school and the students.
Please also pray that God will bring us six new students for the new school year that starts in September. The Covid-19 situation makes it difficult to do recruiting. Many of the young adults that have expressed an interest in the school have told us their families are struggling financially and they can’t come this year, because they must work to help their families.
Thank you for your prayers during this time of transition not only for myself, but also for the Antioch Bible Institute!
