Changes… God’s in Charge

Posted by Kandi on July 3rd, 2021 | 16 comments

It seems your sympathy for my spending Independence Day in quarantine and your prayers for my travels, moved the hand of God to change things up a bit!

Early Friday morning, I found out that my flights to Cambodia had been cancelled and rescheduled for Monday, July 5th. After a flurry of emails back and forth from Cambodia and elsewhere, my teammates and I were able to get a new COVID test and make arrangements for the updated documents we need to enter the country. So we are ready once again to return . . . if things don’t change again.

In the midst of the changes, we heard that some people recently arrived in Cambodia, have not had to quarantine if they were fully vaccinated and no one on their flight tested positive on arrival. It probably also depends on the officials who process you in the airport. No quarantine is what we are hoping for, but God knows best.

Officials in Cambodia are saying that the country is at “redline status” (referring to current COVID situation), meaning if cases continue to increase, it’s possible they will go into lockdown (partial or full) again. They issued the warning to encourage people to continue taking precautions. Pray that we would be able to get into Cambodia and not be stuck somewhere outside because they closed things down again.

This extra time at home is a gift from God for which I thank Him! And I thank you, too, for your faithfulness in prayer.

Thankful for your update, praying for a smooth transition back into Cambodia. The bottom line, Jeremiah 29:11: I know the plans I have for you…

Yes, He does know the best plans. And it looks like a two week quarantine is part of the plan. It’s been good so far. Thank you for your prayers!

Thank YOU for your prayers, Tom. I’m glad to have prayer partners from Grace Church. I have fond memories of my time there.
Now I’m safely tucked into a hotel room for my two week quarantine in Cambodia. Thanks again for keeping me and the work in Cambodia in your prayers!
