Countdown to Freedom . . .

Posted by Kandi on July 18th, 2021 | 6 comments

Day 12 of quarantine and I’m doing well but anxious for the time to be up! If all goes well, my teammates and I will be released this Tuesday or Wednesday. Yippee for freedom!

Thank you for your prayers for the Covid situation at the C&MA Family Home. No other cases have occurred and those who were sick are recovering nicely. The Family Home remains closed until next Sunday, however, those of us coming out of quarantine will be able to move into the top floor a few days before the official re-opening. As the staff have been kept away during the shut down, my newly freed teammates and I will set ourselves the task of cleaning the Family Home when we get there (starting with our own rooms). Since I’ll be taking over responsibility for the Family Home this year, cleaning it from top to bottom seems a good way to orient myself to this new work.

The Antioch Bible Institute students were able to finish up their classes last week and we now have two more graduates – although the graduation ceremony isn’t planned until September. Pray for our graduates who have returned to their homes and face a variety of family and ministry challenges.

I’d also appreciate your prayers for my permanent housing situation. I’ll be staying at the Family Home or possibly a student room at the Antioch school until I can find a good option. Pray for God to lead me to the place He wants me this term.

Thank you for your many prayers and for your ongoing support. If God is leading you to give toward the work in Cambodia, you can see how to do so below.

How to Give:

You can give through an Alliance church.  Mark your gift “GCF” for general giving to The Alliance.  Or mark your gift with my name or simply “Kandi Lay’s ministry.”  That will help me with the specific dollars I am seeking for my various needs. Regular, monthly giving really helps!

You can also give online.  Go to cmalliance.org/give   On this webpage, you can choose the box for giving generally to the Alliance (GCF) or to give specifically to a worker.  And note that you can set up monthly, recurring giving – enter your information and gift amount just once, then choose to make it recurring on the day of each month that you choose!  Simple!

Hi, Kandi! Praise God for you and that your quarantine is almost over! Praying for those needs you mentioned. Is that a gecko? It’s neat looking! Thank you for sharing with us! Jesus richly bless you!

    • Kandi says:

Thanks Cindy! Yes, it’s a tiny gecko. After I put him on the floor next to my trash can – where I thought he could find food – I didn’t see him again.

Thanks Dot! The teacher apartments at the school are full, but today I was told I can move into one of them in August! I’m very happy with that!

Oh, yay, Kandi, glad you’ll have an apt at the school!
I’m hoping by the time you read this that you are released from captivity! 😊 I know you are there to show people that they are captives of the Enemy of their souls, until they let Jesus set them free. Have fun cleaning! And thanks so much for updating us all so regularly. Lots of folks pray for you!

Yes, I’m happy I can go back to my little two bedroom place. I only had a month to live there before so never really moved in all the way. Now I can! Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer!
