A New Home

Praise God for His kindness through the hands of His people! Even before I started to move into my apartment, my field director (with some help) had set up my wifi connection. And thanks to many hands, moving my things from storage into the apartment took very little time (of course it helps that the storage is right next door at the Family Home). A couple of the guys even put my beds together and fixed a problem with one of them in the process! Now the hard work of unpacking and setting up.

I hope to meet with the director of the Antioch Bible Institute this week to start talking about my role at the school for the next three years. Pray for God’s clear direction in how I can help strengthen the school.

This past week Cambodia has once again instituted strict CoVid restrictions including a nightly curfew, no dining in at restaurants and closing the borders of provinces which border Thailand. Our CoVid cases have remained around 600 to 900 new cases a day, but Thailand recently had more than 16,000 in one day. Many Cambodians who work in Thailand have been unknowingly been bringing the Delta variant back into Cambodia, so the latest restrictions are an attempt to keep the number of cases here from rising. The medical system in Cambodia would not be able to handle that high of a case load and is already stretched with the current numbers. Please pray for Cambodia and other South East Asia countries who are in the midst of this dangerous surge of cases.

Thank you for praying!

So glad that things are falling back into place and God is blessing you with the help as he is blessing those who are able and willing to help you.
Please stay safe and as stress free as possible as God uses you to touch so many others.

Hi Kandi- I love reading your updates and remembering the time 13 years ago now, visiting with you and learning about Cambodia and experiencing your kindness and knowledge. So glad you are getting settled in for another 3 years.

    • Kandi says:

Hi Nicole! Has it really been 13 years since you visited? I recently found some pictures of us from your visit and we looked so young … now I know why! šŸ™‚ Thank you for continuing to pray for what God is doing in Cambodia!

Good afternoon Kandi. I am glad that it all worked out for you, no matter how long it took, He was with you the entire time thru the good and bad but look, now you are in your own place and setting up easy compared to packing and moving. I have faith that He will put you in a great position at the school where all will learn what they need. As far as this Covid thing, I got a few video’s on my cell from someone in my church that is showing that there is no way to stop it no matter what they do or restrictions or anything and what I got is all true video of high decorated people speaking in front of the House and Congress so it is all true. This virus is just like any other ones we have, there is no way to stop it from traveling anywhere and wearing masks, which is very bad for you more than the virus so I think they need to get to God more about how to handle this better because all they are doing is killing the countries more.

Happy Birthday a day late, Kandi! Frank always says men have birthdays and women have birthweeks, so Iā€™m still on time! LOL
Glad you are safely home there in Cambodia and pray you will soon find your new rhythm at the Bible School.
May God shelter you under His wings as you continue to faithfully serve there in Cambodia, free from Covid and able to bless many with the love and joy of Jesus!

    • Kandi says:

Ha,ha,ha! Thank you for the Birthweek wishes! šŸ™‚
Unfortunately, Cambodia isn’t so free from Covid as it was last year, but we are doing what we can to stay safe. Thank you for your prayers, Dot!
