Praise & Prayer Requests

You are amazing prayer partners! Because of your prayers, the ministry groups at Antioch have expanded and nearly every one of the students is now going out at least twice a week. The group going to the railroad track community has increased in number to two teachers and three students who visit twice a week. Please pray in particular for the male teacher and two male students who are trying to build relationships with the young men of the community. It’s a bit scary for them as many of the men in that community are using drugs and/or alcohol and some are gang members. But it is for these that Jesus came. Pray for God to open the way for good conversations, good relationships and opportunities to point this spiritually needy population to Jesus.
I’d also appreciate your continued prayers for me, as I try to juggle a lot of different responsibilities. This past week I picked up responsibility for the English class at Antioch when a volunteer teacher had to leave. (We threw her a party to thank her for her time with us. See pictures below.) I also started teaching a first aid class which is usually taught at a local hospital, but because of Covid has fallen to me. I’m glad, however, for the help of another IW, Leaksmy Rebok, who is co-teaching with me.
Things can be so busy I don’t have time to deal with the personal management of my own life – like cleaning my apartment and going to get a new Cambodian drivers license. Usually by the time evening comes I’m exhausted and don’t want to do anything but fall into bed! Of course, that may have something to do with the neighbor’s rooster who likes to crow multiple times during the night. (I was quite irritated at that bird at first, but God has shown me that it’s crowing can be a reminder to pray for those neighbors.) All that to say, please pray for strength, energy and wisdom in how to balance life and work.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support!
