Red Zones

As the CoVid outbreak continues in Cambodia, the government has implemented different measures to control the spread of the disease. One of these is to categorize certain areas in the cities as red, orange or yellow zones with differing levels of restrictions. People that live in red zones are required to remain in their homes except for emergencies and limited exceptions (such as essential workers). Many are already struggling and don’t have adequate food or even money to buy food since they haven’t been able to work. The National Church and International Workers recently received permission to distribute 160 food […]

CoVid in Cambodia

For nearly a year, Cambodia hardly had any CoVid cases, but now the country is in the midst of a surge of cases.  As would be expected, most are in more heavily populated areas – the cities and surrounding areas.  Travel between provinces has been restricted and Phnom Penh is in a lockdown.  People are only allowed out of their homes for necessities and medical care.  It’s something like what many of us experienced last year, although with harsher punishments for those who do not follow instructions.  As you can imagine there is a lot of stress and fear particularly […]

A Long Awaited Wedding

Sometimes what we want to happen isn’t what happens, but God is still in control. Several days before Nhieu and Rebekah’s wedding another wave of Co-Vid cases hit Phnom Penh. The government’s response was to close down nonessential services and close the roads in and out of the city. For Rebekah this was devastating. Nhieu’s family was not going to be at their wedding because the border with Vietnam (where his family lives) was still closed. Now with the roads into Phnom Penh closed, Rebekah’s family was also unable to attend as they live outside the city. So God gave […]

Co-Vid Can’t Stop Love

For those of you who have been praying and recently asked – the Antioch Bible Institute is now fully staffed – with an additional teacher couple and a single teacher, too. Please continue to pray with us that God would send more students for the next school year (starting in September). Cambodia has been one of a few countries with official cases of Co-Vid being quite low. However, on February 20th, Cambodia (specifically Phnom Penh) had an outbreak of Co-Vid 19 with more than 100 cases – which is a lot for them. It resulted in everything being shut down […]

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas dear friends and prayer partners. Thank you for your continued prayers for the Antioch Bible Institute of Phnom Penh. Their trimester finished last week and the students and teachers are now on Christmas break until the first week in January. The plans to start the optional English and computer training program in January has been delayed until fall 2021. Please pray for the Canadian International Workers who are preparing to oversee this training. May you find joy and peace this Christmas in the love of our God who sent His Son Jesus just for you. He likes you […]

Thank You!

For those of you who have given financially to the ministry in Cambodia and the work of the C&MA around the world – THANK YOU! With the CO-VID 19 pandemic effecting so many financially, it’s not an easy thing to give, but I want to sincerely thank you for doing so. Your giving makes a difference. The six students who have graduated from the Antioch Bible Institute would not have done so without you. The outreaches that these students are doing in their communities will impact even more people. Two of our Antioch graduates have sent me pictures this week […]

Answered Prayers

What amazing prayer warriors you are! Before I sent out the prayer request to pray for the wound on Meng’s foot (a student at the Antioch school), the doctor told him that the infection had spread to the bone in his foot. But after you prayed, the doctor said the bone was not involved and his foot began to heal more quickly. It has not completely healed yet, but looks SO MUCH better (he’s been sending me pictures). Thank you for your prayers! Last week four of our students at the Antioch Bible Institute graduated from the two year program. […]

I’m back in PA!

Thank you so much for your prayers for my travels from Cambodia to Pennsylvania. The trip went very smoothly. Although it was weird to wear a mask the whole way, it was also nice to have the middle row on two of the flights all to myself. Nothing like stretching out on long flights. 🙂 It was also great to travel with my teammates, Jeff and Heather Williams – all the way to the USA. And a big thanks to Lorry, who picked me up at the airport! Although I was pretty busy right up until it was time to […]

Coming Home

On July 1st, I’ll be starting the trip back to Pennsylvania for my year of home assignment. What that year will look like is still unclear, but I’m happy to be returning to see family and friends again. Pray for my last days of packing, finishing up work and saying goodbye. I’d also appreciate your prayers for my travels. For the first time, I get to travel back to the USA with two of my teammates (for the first two flights). What a blessing! Pray that we are able to make it home without difficulties – as our flights have […]

June already?!

Time feels like it’s flying by quickly as I near the end of this term in Cambodia. I’ll be headed back to the United States on July 1st. It always seems like there is so much to do before you leave because you want to finish your work well, spend time with everyone you know, pack up your house, not to mention start thinking about what to share in the churches at home this coming year. Just a little bit of stress. 🙂 Thank you for your prayers for the students at the Antioch Bible Institute. The students who were […]
