Greetings from Phnom Penh, Cambodia!

Despite a few bumps in the road when my teammates and I were “processed” on arrival, we all made it through and safely into quarantine at a hotel in the city. At day five of quarantine, I’m doing well. The hotel I’m staying at is very nice and the room spacious. The Chinese food we are fed (it’s a Chinese run hotel) is both tasty and abundant. (Although my stomach is still trying to adjust. :)) And even though the days are rather monotonous, I am finding things to keep me occupied. Only nine more days to go!

Please be praying for our C&MA ‘compound’ where the Antioch school, Family Home (guesthouse) and offices are located.  One of our missionaries staying at the Family Home tested positive for CoVid earlier in the week and was quarantined.  She is doing better now, but one of the staff is now positive.  We’ve closed the Family Home to any new guests (it’s actually already full with many of our IWs at the moment) and closed the mission office for two weeks as a precaution.  There are no known cases at Antioch and the school is trying to keep itself isolated so they can finish up classes for this school year – hopefully next week.  We’d appreciate your continued prayers.

So grateful for the Lord’s clear leading in your travels and lodging, Kandi. Your Mom likes Marcello’s now…look out, she’s got a menu! Wish we could feed you! How is Luna?

Know we are praying fervently for you, and for the compound. Thanks for the pictures. Love you and praying much for you! Miss you already!

I’m sure my mom would enjoy any restaurant with you! Don’t worry about feeding me – I’m getting plenty here. It is a Chinese hotel, my Asian momma! Because I’m stuck in quarantine I haven’t seen Luna yet, nor do I know if she’s still alive. Cambodia can be rough on dogs…for many reasons.
Thank you so much for the prayers! Praying for you guys, too.

Praying….Hang in there….wonderful looking food! Makes me hungry!

    • Kandi says:

Thanks so much, Pastor Steve. The food is delicious and I’d share because they give more than enough, but alas, I’m not sure how to get it to you! One more week of quarantine to go!

Glad you made it back safely. It is always good to see your smiling face. I hope that the time goes quickly. I am praying for you.

    • Kandi says:

Thanks, Vonda. I appreciate your prayers. I’m half way thru the quarantine now – which I’m thankful for, since I’m getting a little restless. At least the room is large enough to make pacing worth it – I’m getting my ‘steps’ in!

    Hi Kandi,
Uncle Paul and I were so happy to see you and visit with you before you left. We continue to pray for you and all the Cambodian people and your team. We enjoyed the pictures you took of all of us old people! Wish for everyone everyone good health.

    All our love, Aunt Doris

You look so cute. Hoping and praying you and all the others there stay safe and healthy.

    • Kandi says:

Ha,ha,ha! I don’t remember the last time someone called me ‘cute’ – only you Sharon! Thanks for your prayers! Half-way through my quarantine, yippee!

Ha,ha,ha! I don’t remember the last time someone called me ‘cute’ – only you Sharon! Thanks for your prayers! Seven more days of quarantine, yippee!
